Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Jirani Connect — bi-weekly accountability circles for East African diaspora professionals in the US, UK, and Canada.
What is an accountability circle?
An accountability circle is a vetted group of 6 East African diaspora professionals who meet bi-weekly for structured peer collaboration. Unlike generic professional networks, circles address the trust gap by offering culturally fluent accountability without code-switching.
How much does Jirani Connect membership cost?
Membership is $25 per month at our founding member rate. Founded after three years of community research and 18 in-depth interviews, this pricing reflects sustainable peer collaboration, not transactional networking.
Who can join Jirani Connect accountability circles?
Jirani Connect serves East African diaspora professionals in the US, UK, and Canada who want sustained, culturally fluent professional accountability among people who already understand the terrain — without code-switching.
How is this different from professional networking groups?
Generic professional networks don't address the trust gap diaspora professionals face. Jirani Connect focuses less on networking and more on sustained, culturally fluent professional accountability. Small circles of 6 vetted professionals, not transactional events.
What happens in bi-weekly circle sessions?
Each 90-minute session is facilitated on Zoom. We use structured exercises for authentic sharing, skill-building, and partnership formation. Sessions focus on truth-telling, collaboration skills, creating circle charter, and forming partnerships.
Will sessions be recorded?
No. We create a confidential space for authentic sharing. What's shared in the circle stays in the circle. This is how trust gets built.
